The Shaken Aimanov Kazakhfilm Studio is the heart of Kazakh cinema and the largest film-production base in Central Asia, founded 1934 in Alma-Ata. It produces feature, documentary and animated films, rents pavilions, costumes, props and special transport, and is the central institution any production — including the historical epics that drive Kazakhstan's stunt work — passes through.

State Cinema Fund & Film Commission · Almaty

Established 2019 under the Ministry of Culture, Kazakh Cinema administers state funding for national films and runs the country's film commission, including a 30% cash rebate to attract foreign productions. It is the body international producers approach to shoot in Kazakhstan and set up co-productions — the gateway through which overseas projects reach Kazakh stunt teams and locations.

Nomad Stunts

Stunt & Equestrian-Action Company · Almaty

The defining Kazakh stunt team and the country's strongest international calling card. Founded 2000 by Honoured Artist of Kazakhstan Zhaidarbek Kunguzhinov from the “Nomad” horse-acrobatic act of the Kazakh State Circus, it now numbers ~86 performers plus ~40 trained stunt horses — equestrian stunts, fights, acrobatics, high falls, fire and pyro. Stunt Association of Kazakhstan / “Leader”

Led by Aleksandr Terekhov, a top-category stunt coordinator and Union of Cinematographers member, this association runs the “Leader” stunt group — known for touring stunt shows and “Auto Rodeo” precision-driving and motorcycle programmes across Kazakhstan, Russia and abroad, plus an affiliated Almaty motorcycle school. It represents the vehicle-and-show side of Kazakh stunt work. Listed honestly: confirm the site with a manual browser check before relying on it.

Kazakhstan's leading theatre, film, choreography and fine-arts academy, with a dedicated Faculty of Cinema and TV (the historic birthplace of the national film school). The premier academic pathway into Kazakh cinema, training the directors, actors, choreographers and crew who commission and stage action; its choreography and screen-movement programmes are the closest academic feeders into screen action.

Nomad Stunts Training Base (Issyk)

Kazakhstan has no standalone public stunt academy, so its real training centre is Nomad Stunts' dedicated base near Issyk — home to the team's stunt horses, where trick-riding, fight and acrobatic skills are developed in-house, and where the team has reported launching courses for new performers. An in-team training operation rather than open enrolment, but where Kazakhstan's elite equestrian-stunt skills are actually taught.
